The Heart-Centered Storyteller: Pamela Morrison

Pamela Morrison is a Gitxsan educator since 2010 and a proud member of her community who brought 13 years of classroom experience with her when she was called to the library. Having taught every grade from Kindergarten to Grade 12, her true passion has always been centered on working with and advocating for Indigenous youth. After years dedicated to student-centred learning in the classroom setting, teaching Career Life Education and Gitxsan language and culture, she earned her Teacher-Librarian certification in 2024.

For Pamela, the library is more than just shelves of books—it is the heart of the school and a vital bridge between heritage and literacy. Through her blog, Beading Between the Lines, she explores the intersections of decolonization, student voice, and the meditative art of crafting. When she isn’t organizing a novel study or mentoring Library Ambassadors, you can find her beading, playing video games, or frying up a batch of fried bread.
